Date set for travellers’ eviction

The group of six caravans of Irish travellers have been parked in Poseidon Way, off Heathcote Lane, since July 26.

The highway authority for Warwickshire County Council, which is responsible for the land, originally served notice on the group to leave on Monday July 30.

A council spokeswoman said the council now had a court date of August 14 to evict the travellers.

She added: “If the judge grants an eviction order it will be served immediately and the travellers will have to leave the following day.

“If they do not move on, the council will send bailiffs in.”
