POLICE investigating the disappearance of 77-year-old George Summerfield from Wolsto, are trying to trace two people who were seen talking to him on the day he disappeared.
It is now one week since George was last seen in the village and a search has been ongoing since he was reported missing on Saturday. The last known sighting of him was on Thursday March 29.
This has involved officers with dogs and off road bikes as well as villagers.
One of the reported sightings of George place him in the car park of the Rose and Crown public house between 2pm and 3pm when he was talking to someone, and another places him on the Brandon bridge at 11.30am talking to two men.
Officers are keen to speak to both those people who may be able to give some indication about George’s state of mind or his intentions.
If it was you, contact Det Insp Neal Candelent at Warwickshire Police on 101 or 01926 415000.
DI Candelent said: “We are still very concerned for George’s welfare and are doing all that we can to locate him. It is very out of character for him to wander away like this and we are worried that he may have taken ill somewhere.
“I am very grateful to everyone in Wolston for the help and support they have given us in our search for George. He is clearly a much loved member of the community.”
Any who sees George is asked to call 999 immediately. Anyone with information about him or his whereabouts is asked to call Warwickshire Police on 101 or 01926 415000. Alternatively information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
