Discount stores recall cooking sauces over allergy fears
A number of UK discount stores are recalling packets of cooking sauces over fears they may have been mislabelled and could pose a risk to people with a variety of different allergies.
The makers of Blue Dragon sauces say a packing error may mean some packets might contain allergens, including shellfish, soya and gluten, not mentioned on the packet.
Anyone who has bought any of the triple packs of Blue Dragon sauce is asked to return it to the store where they purchased it.
The sauces were sold in branches of B&M, Poundworld, TJ Morris and Netto and the following products are affected:
Blue Dragon ‘Value Pack’ 3 x sachets of Sweet Chilli Stir Fry
Blue Dragon ‘Value Pack’ 3 x sachets of Oyster and Spring Onion Sauce
Blue Dragon ‘Value Pack’ 3 x sachets of Chow Mein Sauce
A statement from the manufacturer said: “If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to shellfish, soya and and/or gluten, or an intolerance to these allergens, please do not eat it. Instead return it to the store from where you bought it for a full refund, or contact our care line on 0800 197 1679.
“Only these ‘triple pack sachets’ of Blue Dragon Stir Fry sauce are impacted. No other Blue Dragon products, including Blue Dragon Stir Fry sachets sold individually, are affected.”
