PARENTS in Warwickshire are being reminded that the school application deadline is approaching for pupils starting secondary school next year.
Applications for children due to start secondary school in September 2012 need to be made by October 31, 2011.
The easiest way for parents of children in Year 6 to apply is online at www.warwickshire.gov.uk/admissions.
Parents can name up to seven preferences and will receive an email confirming that their application has been received. Parents can also apply by calling Warwickshire Admissions on 01926 742047 or 01926 742037 or by requesting a paper application.
Letters confirming allocated school places will be sent to parents on 1 March and parents will have the chance to appeal against any decisions if they are not offered a place at their preferred school.
Cllr Heather Timms, Portfolio Holder for Children, Young People and Families said: “Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions parents have to make.
“Applying on time is incredibly important, and any parent who has not already applied for a secondary school place for next September should do so via the Warwickshire County Council website before the closing date.”
Full application details are available on the Warwickshire website, but more information is available from the Admissions Service on (01926) 742037, (01926) 742047 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
