Overslade House had a double celebration on November 30.
Firstly, for St Andrew’s day they had Scottish dancing, haggis, whisky, shortbread and a traditional piper, and to celebrate the end of their epic bike ride from Lands’ End to John O’Groats in aid of Macmillan Nurses, they were joined on the last leg by the mayor of Rugby Cllr Richard Dodd, who started them off on the bike ride back in September.
Overslade staff, relatives and residents have cycled 15 miles a day to cover the 867 mile journey.
They decided to stop in each county and try the local cuisine – riding through Warwickshire they sampled some delicious Napton Water buffalo ice cream.
Overslade is delighted to have raised lots of money towards a very worthy cause.
Activities co-ordinator Jo Sawyer said: “We would like to thank all who attended and supported Overslade House, we look forward to welcoming you all to our Christmas fair on Friday at 6pm followed by our free entertainer.”
