A dream of getting a new outdoor playground for pupils at Rugby’s Brooke School has become reality thanks to a £35,000 donation from the Rugby Group Benevolent Fund.
The school has been trying for three years to raise the money for the outdoor area, which is used as part of the curriculum. Selina Crinigan from the school’s Foundations department for children aged 0-6, said: “Thank you to the Rugby Group Benevolent Fund for their generous donation.
“This will greatly enhance the learning provision we can offer our children and enable us to extend our links to the wider community.
“The children are very excited and are looking forward to their new outdoor area.”
She added due to building works at the school, the outdoor area has suffered with flooding and uneven pathways but they can now plan for a new area with even paths, artificial grass, a sensory area and areas to enhance the children’s communication and social skills.
