Just when you thought Rugby had got enough out-of-town shopping – and enough traffic trying to get there – plans are afoot for phase two of Elliott’s Field, offering nine more units.
With the town centre feeling the pinch from the revamped Elliott’s Field, Junction One and the new shops at Technology Drive, there could be more to come.
Hammerson, the firm behind the new-look Elliott’s Field, which has more than 300,00 sq ft of shopping and restaurant space, is now looking to add another 150,000 sq ft of shopping space in phase two, plus 531 car parking spaces.
In a glossy brochure promoting the proposal, it shows phase two sitting on the current undeveloped land between the Peugeot dealership and the existing Elliott’s Field, accessed from the same junction which leads to Junction One and Technology Drive on the other side of the road.
The brochure, produced last month, says a planning application will be submitted by summer this year, with the shops expected to be open by late 2017.
What do you think? Are there still more big names you’d like to see come to Rugby or do you think enough is enough?
