Hedgehog lovers in Rugby borough can take part in an exclusive event aimed at highlighting what these remarkable creatures are up to.
Warwickshire Wildlife Trust is running this special session on Friday, July 15, at its Brandon Marsh headquarters.
It’s a free workshop running from 3-4pm and puts the focus on hedgehog tunnel training.
It’s for adults only and is also only open to Rugby borough hedgehog fans who want to check for them in their own gardens.
A spokesman for the wildlife trust said: “Hedgehog Officer, Deborah Wright, will train you up in how to use ‘footprint tunnels’ to check for hedgehogs.
“You will then be given a tunnel to borrow, along with some hedgehog food.
“No prior experience necessary, just enthusiasm and a garden required.”
Following on from the workshop you are then ready to do a survey, following the guidelines.
The spokesman added: “You will need to be able to check your tunnels for mystery footprints for five consecutive days.
“Tunnels can be checked anytime in the day and it should only take a few minutes.”
To book a free place online, go to: www.warwickshirewildlifetrust.org.uk/ and look in the what’s on section for tomorrow’s date or call the trust on: 024 7630 2912.
