Sunday evening saw the fifth Rugby Festival of Culture come to a close after two weeks of entertainment.

The cultural feast, supported by Rugby First and Rugby Borough Council, ran in a variety of town centre locations from Friday June 26 to Sunday July 12.

Aftab Gaffar, managing director of Rugby First, said the festival was excellent.

“The 2015 programme was incredibly diverse and packed full of high quality events that were well received and supported. The content was a true reflection of the local and wonderfully talented creative individuals, groups, organisations and businesses that we have here in Rugby and I would like to extend a special thank you to all those involved for their superb contribution and continued support.”

Aftab added: “The festival is a real showcase for the town centre. It helps increases footfall, attracts new visitors, generates income and of course raises the profile of our wonderful town and all it has to offer. We know events play a significant role in town centres and Rugby First in partnership with Rugby Borough Council and other organisations continues to build and develop an exciting programme of annual events that are designed to do just that.”
