A cancer support centre will be expanding its services thanks to generous donations.

The Hummingbird Centre (Midlands) offers a range of events, support and activities for cancer patients and their families.

And thanks to funding from the Heart of England Co-operative Society: Helping Hearts and the Pink Ribbon Foundation, the centre will now be open three days per week , Tuesday – Thursday, from next month and will be offering counselling, exercise classes, workshops, talks and craft sessions.

Helen Ure, director of the centre in Regent Place, said: “We are looking for volunteers who can commit a few hours per week to support people affected by cancer. We have a fantastic volunteer development programme with Macmillan which we expect to launch later this year.”
