Family fun at festival

We’re still buzzing from the first ever Big Family Festival after rubbing shoulders with the likes of top Foo Fighters and Katy Perry tributes, Rastamouse and Twist and Pulse.

It took place this summer at the picturesque Dunton Hall and was the brainchild of Angela Hopton and George Kafetzis, who have worked in dance music events for the last 15 years.

Run by a family for families, the festival offered all manner of wild and immersive entertainment.

There was plenty of fun in the sun for all ages - from tots to teenagers (not forgetting the up-for-it parents!)

The main stage played host to BBC’s The Voice finalist Lyrickal, plus CBeebies’ Rastamouse and Cook and Line, who pulled in cheers from the crowds. Other tribute acts included Michael Jackson, Bob Marley and Bruno Mars, who all got festival-goers up and dancing.

The festival featured a giant teepee, funfair, open air cinema, vintage clothes bus, beer festival, farmers’ market, photo booths, a giant inflatable slide and a 20ft ghetto blaster which pumped out dance anthems.

There was plenty to eat for all tastes and it was refreshing to see a stall providing vegan

treats.

BFF did have a few teething problems, but even Glastonbury had to start somewhere.
