A day of dazzling festive fun will be held in Rugby for the big Christmas lights switch-on.
It takes place on Sunday, from 10.30am to 5pm and features a packed programme to suit families of all ages.
The event will be headlined by Toploader, best known for their hit Dancing in the Moonlight.
There will be a funfair, live music, dance, games, Father Christmas, a Christmas market, fireworks and more.
From noon there will be live acts including White Men Can’t Funk, Me and My Shadow, Hill Street Studio Singers, Rugby Cadet Corps of Drums, the Salvation Army band with St Andrew’s Church Choir, Hayley’s Impact Dance and the Choir Idol finals.
Rugby Mayor Ramesh Srivastava said: “I’m looking forward to switching the lights on and enjoying hearing Toploader play and seeing the grand firework display.
“There will be lots of entertainment for all the family and opportunity for all to try a few festive treats from the food market.”
There’s Punch and Judy, balloon modelling, circus workshops, a bouncy castle, a mobile farm, face painting, arts and crafts, and a Santa’s Grotto, provided by Rugby Rokeby Lions.
There are more seasonal thrills to be had when Rugby Rokeby Lions bring their Sleigh and Father Christmas to the following locations: Sainsbury’s, Dunchurch, Saturday and Sunday, December 6 and 7; Tesco, Leicester Road, Rugby, Saturday and Sunday, December 13 and 14; Asda, Swan Centre, Rugby, Saturday December 20, Sunday December 21, Tuesday December 23 and Wednesday, December 24.
He will visit between the hours of 10am and 4pm daily.
