Figures adding up for bankers with Rugby's Handelsbanken reporting encouraging start to year

Strong annual results have confirmed a demand of local relationship banking, according to the team at a Rugby bank.

Handelsbanken Rugby has already reported an encouraging start to the year, following strong 2015 annual results for the bank in the UK.

The firm says the successful year of growth is down to the loyalty of its local branch customers.

Its full year 2015 annual results reveal an 11 per cent rise in lending to British customers from the final

quarter of 2014 to the final quarter of last year.

Over this period, UK business lending increased eight per cent to £10.36bn, while lending to personal banking

customers rose 17 per cent, to £5.09bn.

UK customer deposits increased 13 per cent over the same period, to £8.69bn.

Handelsbanken Rugby is run by a team of five experienced local bankers and is one of 206 British branches across the country.
