Firefighters called to huge factory fire in Somers Road, Rugby

A FIRE broke out at a Rugby industrial on Saturday night.

Warwickshire Fire Control received a call to a tree fire on Somers Road, Rugby at 9.24pm.

One fire crew from Rugby were sent out. A further call was received at 9.27pm stating that a factory was on fire.

A further fire crew from Rugby Fire Station were sent out.

At 9.50pm four more appliances attended from Leamington and Southam to assist.

The furniture storage warehouse was on fire and there was a risk that it could spread to another factory which store ammunition.

At around 11pm the fire was under control and hadn’t spread.

Both electricity and gas boards attended to ensure safety of supplies in area.

The last fire crew returned at just before 6am on Sunday morning.
