Remember, remember Rugby Round Table Firework Night is on the 5th of November.

It’s the 65th annual firework spectacular in the town and will be held at Whinfield Park in Clifton Road.

Born out of an idea to help the local orphan children, Rugby Round Table held their first communal fireworks display on 5th November 1951, on the field behind Merttons Playing Field.

Since that inaugural event the display has raised thousands of pounds each year to provide vital help and support to local charities and good causes.

The evening will be themed as “Remember Remember”. The theme follows the reminder of the date of the event but also remembering the 100th anniversary of the battle of the Somme, 90 years since the first transmission was sent from Rugby Radio Station, Rugby Round Table’s 80th birthday, the first meeting held in November 1936 and 65 years of Rugby Round Table Firework Displays. There will also be live music and on stage entertainment. The evening entertainment kicks off at 4.30pm.

There is the uual free park and ride bus service again, picking up from outside Lawrence Sherriff School, Clifton Road, Rugby Town Centre, with free parking in the John Barford car park from 3pm until 9pm on the day. Tickets are £5 from, with further discounts for bulk bookings (four or more), £7 on the day.
