FLOOD RESCUE: Children boated from school in flooded village near Rugby

Children at a village primary school had to be boated out at the end of the day due to flooding.

Pupils and staff at Yelvertoft Primary School were rescued by Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service using inflatable boats.

Other parents resorted to carrying their children through the flood waters.

The centre of the village has seen extensive flooding, with some motorists being trapped for hours.

Some houses and gardens have also been flooded by the water.
