Four hurt in Rugby town centre altercation


Four men were injured in an altercation with another group in Rugby town centre early on Saturday morning.

Warwickshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened outside the Clock Towers Shopping Centre at about 3.10am.

A group of four men were waiting in the taxi rank outside the shopping centre when they became involved in an altercation with another group of men.

The four men, aged 22, 19, 18, and 17 from Lutterworth, were injured in the attack. The 22-year-old sustained serious injuries and was taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for treatment. The 18-year-old also attended hospital for slight injuries. The other men did not require hospital treatment for their injuries.

Three men have since been charged with violent disorder. They are Ryan Adam Foster, 22, of Waskerley Road, Washington, Tyne and Wear; Mark William Robson, 33, of Aldershot Road, Sunderland; and Robert Anthony Wilson, 29, of Falkland Road, Sunderland.

Officers investigating the disorder are eager to talk to any witnesses, and ask that they contact investigating officer Wayne Plester at Warwickshire Police on non-emergency number 101 quoting incident 0039 of March 21.
