Fourth man arrested following serious incident in Rugby town centre

Police have arrested a fourth man in connection with an incident in Rugby on Saturday during which a man suffered serious injuries.

The incident happened at about 4.30am near to the Clock Tower where there was an altercation between two groups of males and subsequently a collision involving a 33 year old man and a black Range Rover.

The Range Rover left the scene following the collision.

The injured male was taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire with serious leg injuries.

Three men, two aged 24 and one aged 22, were arrested in connection with the incident and have since been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

A fourth man, who is 24 years old, was arrested in Coventry last night (Sunday) and is currently in custody awaiting questioning.

Police investigating Saturday’s incident would like to hear from anyone who witnessed it or who has any information about the circumstances leading up to it.
