Fun in the sun at community day in the park

Stalls, games, music and special displays created a carnival atmosphere at the free fun day at St Nicholas Park, which was organised by The Midcounties Co-operative.

Funds raised will go to charity partner Women’s Aid, the key national charity working to end domestic violence against women and children.

Midcounties has raised £245,000 since the two-year partnership was launched last year.

The fun day was such a big success that plans are already in place for it to be held again next year.

Midcounties chief executive Ben Reid said: “It was a fantastic event.”
