Get a taste of castle life above and below stairs

Schools in the Warwickshire and Coventry area are being offered the opportunity to take part in a week of interactive history called History LIVE! – The Victorians.

It will show life both upstairs and downstairs in a Victorian household with activities linked to the curriculum.

School parties will be split into groups and escorted during the half-day visits in which they will encounter inhabitants of the castle from the butler and below-stairs staff to the lady of the house.

Mark Anderson, trade sales and marketing manager at the castle said: “It is a great opportunity for school groups to enjoy a day of learning and the event ticket includes standard daytime admission to the castle.”

Schools which attend can send in examples of their project work for display in the castle.

It will run from February 7 to 11. Tickets are on sale on a limited basis. Teachers should call 0871 222 2772 to book.
