Getting set to pass on the Olympic spirit

PUPILS at Campion School will be passing on the Olympic spirit as the London 2012 games draw nearer.

The school is part of the Get Set network, in which young people host and lead sports events to teach the Olympic and Paralympic values to children around the community.

Presenting the school with a plaque, Warwick and Leamington MP Chris White said: “Pupils at Campion School are excellent examples of how London 2012 is helping spark young people’s imagination and inspire them to get involved and make a difference.”

Lord Coe, chairman of the London organising committee, said: “I am proud to welcome Campion School to the Get Set network for their exciting work around the Olympic values of friendship, excellence and respect and the Paralympic values of inspiration, courage, determination and equality.”

Headteacher Mark Feldman said: “There seems to be a real drive to use London’s hosting of the Olympics to instill values, virtue and leadership amongst young people. This could be 2012’s great legacy. We are proud to be part of the network.”
