Great effort in support of Rugby's Hope 4
The sponsored sleepout last Friday night in aid of Hope 4, saw a big turnout of people looking to raise money for the charity's work with homeless and badly-housed people.
It was organised by Angie Marsh, pictured in the baseball cap, who said: “When we are in our boxes it makes us think that in reality you would be out there alone, scared and vulnerable. In this day and age no-one should have to live like this.
“Is a roof over your head, somewhere safe, really too much to ask? People come to Hope 4 for practical reasons, a hot meal, shower, clean clothes etc but also for some human contact and compassion, the things that we take for granted.
“If you see a homeless person, yes buy them a hot drink and maybe a sandwich but go up and say ‘hello’ and chat for a few minutes.”
Angie, who has worked with Hope 4 for eight years, is already looking for help to organise next year’s event. To get involved, email her on [email protected]
