Harris students perform in play this week that features their own live band The Dummysuckers

Harris C. of E. Academy in Rugby will be performing '˜Gargantua' as part of National Theatre Connections '“ a nationwide celebration of new plays for young people.

Connections is produced by the National Theatre and for their 21st Anniversary, and is working with 500 youth theatres and schools to stage 12 plays.

Harris Academy are producing Gargantua, a play by Kneehigh’s Carl Grose, featuring their own live band ‘The Dummysuckers’.

The play will transfer to one of the main professional stages the Warwick Arts Centre at the end of April. Director Chris Browning said: “National Connections is a wonderful showcase for young people to be part of. It is the largest youth theatre festival in the world and has enabled us to have a wonderful time rehearsing an absolutely brilliant play and to take the show to the largest arts centre outside of London in the UK. Wow!’
