Hillmorton Primary wins recognition for putting reading at the heart of education

Hillmorton Primary School has been recognised at the national Reading Recovery awards for a third consecutive year.

Year one pupil Emily Biernacka was revealed as a winner in the children’s reading competition for her recital of We’re Going on a Bear Hunt and headteacher Catherine Crisp was named as an Inspirational Manager of the Year recipient.

A small group from the school will now attend the awards ceremony in London in June.

Catherine Crisp said: “Reading is at the heart of everything we do here at Hillmorton Primary. We’re truly committed to making every child a reader.”
