Despite the ongoing wintry weather, Connells in Rugby enjoyed a busy Easter period with potential buyers out in force.
Manager Steve Bell said that there are many more people looking to buy than properties available.
He said: “The market always gets busier around Easter time but this year there is an added bonus for vendors in that there are many more people looking to buy than properties available.”
He said spring is a great time to sell, with the clocks going forward heralding lighter evenings.
Steve added: “Anyone who has ever watched one of the property shows which seem to dominate our TV screens these days knows the importance of kerb appeal when selling their home.
“At this time of the year, when there is plenty of colour in the garden but the summer weeds haven’t yet begun to try and take over, many properties are looking at their best.”
Connells has seen a marked increase in demand from buyers already in 2013, with applicant numbers nationally up by 12 per cent and mortgage sign-ups up 26 per cent in the first three months compared to the same period last year.
“There is a lot more confidence around and it seems that people who have put off moving over the past few years have now decided that they have waited long enough. With demand outstripping supply properties that are well presented and actively marketed are generally selling quickly,” added Steve.
“I would advise anyone who is thinking of selling this year to take advantage of the current situation and get in touch with us as soon as possible on (01788) 579880, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call into your local Connells office at 25 Regent Street to arrange a free market appraisal.”
