A Bilton woman returned home from holiday to find an “eyesore” left by builders outside her flat.

Janet Fellows said the obstruction has blocked the natural light from her ground floor flat.

It’s due to building construction work at Ivy Grange housing development.

Mrs Fellows, who has lived at Sidley House for four years, said: “I couldn’t believe my eyes when I first saw it.

“It was a horrible sight to come home to after two weeks on holiday. It totally blocks out my light too.”

She said she spoke to builders, who are working on behalf of Courts.

“I wanted to see what was going on and they said it was only temporary,” said Mrs Fellows.

“When I asked them how long it would be there for they said about six months, which I think is a long time.”

Mrs Fellows said she used to enjoy the scenic view from her home. “It was beautiful,” she said. “There used to be ponies in the field and I’d feed them from my window. Now all I have to look at is a horrible eyesore. The builders told me it was either that or a pile of bricks.”

She said her flat was the only one affected by obstruction.

Mrs Fellows added: “What I want to know is, how would they like it outside their home?”

The Advertiser contacted Courts in Rugby, but the firm declined to comment.
