A horse needed to be rescued after becoming stuck in its horsebox while travelling on the Oxford Road in Marton.

A specialist Animal Rescue Unit was sent from Rugby Fire Station along with another fire engine.

They found the horse trapped between dividers within the horsebox, a common feature in horseboxes that keeps horses apart while travelling.

A vet sedated the horse before fire crews secured the horse using a head restraint and small gear.

The horse was successfully released without injury, and was left in the care of the vet and its owner.
