New care home Anya Court has been officially opened by television presenter John Craven, who described the it as “the shining star for all other care homes”.
John, best known for presenting the BBC programmes John Craven’s Newsround and Countryfile, cut the ribbon at the Dunchurch Road site in front of 200 guests.
Facilities include the Juke Box Café, described as a “vibrant music-inspired social space”,a luxury cinema, a relaxing therapy room, a ‘corner shop’ and residents’ laundry rooms to encourage active and independent living.
Speaking at the launch, Anya Court’s general manager Steve Neal said:“We have a building we can be proud of and a fantastic team in place.
“We are very much looking forward to welcoming our first residents to their new home and delivering the highest standard of relationship-centred care”.
The home provides residential, nursing and dementia care.
The first residents are expected to move in at the end of the month.
