Jury considers verdict in warehouse fire deaths case

THE JURY trying two Warwickshire fire managers accused of manslaughter over the deaths of four colleagues in a warehouse blaze, is considering its verdict.

Timothy Woodward, 51, from Leamington, and Adrian Ashley, 45, of Nuneaton, deny four counts of manslaughter by gross negligence.

They are on trial at Stafford Crown Court over the deaths of firefighters Ian Reid, John Averis, Darren Yates Badley and Ashley Stephens, who died as a result of the blaze at a vegetable packing plant in Atherstone-on-Stour in November 2007.
