With most Spa Striders engaged in Regency 10k marshalling, a few still managed fit in some racing.

Chief among them was Mike Ellis who, despite the heat and wind in Holland, managed to set a new club record time of 2:43:20 to finish 116th in the Rotterdam Marathon.

Also going Dutch, Steve Goult came home in a respectable 3:16:35 followed by a conditions-affected Dawn Clark in 3:43:20.

Down on the south coast, Rich Sykes finished in a debut time of 3:25:56 at the Brighton Marathon, swiftly followed by Bethan Gwynn (3:26:40, PB), Tim Stooks (3:27:13) and fellow debutant Tony Holt (3:38:00).
