Last May The Vale of the Red Horse Health Care Centre in Kineton was forced to set up a temporary practice adjacent to its site at the Old School in Market Square after thousand gallons of water had escaped from a burst pipe into the building’s framework and was trapped by a waterproof floor membrane.

Eventually the building’s concrete base had become saturated and staff opened up one morning to find the entrance and waiting room carpets were soaked.

Practice manager Lisa Source said: “We immediately contacted our local plumber who informed us what the problem was and it spiralled from there.

“Once the insurance was agreed we had two months to plan a fully functioning temporary surgery which had to be installed in what can only be described as difficult and tight conditions.

“Portable Offices did a fantastic job on building and installing our modular solution and without this and the cooperation of our neighbours we would not have been able continue the excellent healthcare we offer to the community.

“We moved into the temporary solution at the end of August 2014.

After the Old School was completely dried out work started on the refurbishment of the building with the lower floor being completely redecorated.

Lisa said: “we hope our patients will see the vast improvements we have made when they come to the surgery.

“We moved back to The Old School last Friday and we would like to welcome all patients back to our newly decorated practice.

“Our staff have been amazing in what was a very stressful time and for them the most important thing to them was to ensure continuity of care for our patients.

“I would like to thank all of our staff especially Ben Evans our IT and reception manager and the contractors who worked on the temporary surgery and the re-instatement of the Old School without their professionalism I do not know what we would have done.”
