X Factor’s Kingsland Road are heading to Rugby and Bilton’s star boy Joe Conaboy, known as Connor, can’t wait to perform at his old school with the band.
The group will be taking to the stage at Bilton Junior School’s Summer Fayre on June 28.
It is a free event and runs from 11am to 5pm, with more than 100 businesses, charities and organisations attending.
Visitors can expect dance shows, demonstrations, a fun fair and more.
Connor said it was “brilliant” to be invited to the school after such a long time.
He added: “It will be really nice to go back to my old school and my little sister goes there so she can’t wait for us to perform.
“It will probably feel a bit weird going back but I know it will be a great day.
“I moved to London when I was 16 and it’s a totally different way of life, it’s very fast-paced. That’s why I like coming back to Rugby and seeing my friends and family – it’s always a relaxed atmosphere and it’s nice to see everyone.
“We’ll be performing our new single at the Summer Fayre and we’d love all our fans in Rugby to come down and watch us perform and have a great time.”
Kingsland Road have been working on their debut album since their appearance on the hit ITV show and are heading out on tour in August.
Connor said: “Our new sound has a live-performance feel to it. It’s individual to us and not like people might expect.
“We’ve been writing with some really cool people, including Ollie Green who’s worked with One Direction, and we’re lucky that we can make an album the way we want to. We absolutely love being in the studio and writing our own stuff.
“The band has always been close but I’d say we’re closer than ever now.”
