Knife-wielding thief screamed “stay away from me” in Leamington robbery

A ROBBER threatened a Leamington shopkeeper with a knife before smashing a window and running away with designer jeans yesterday morning (Wednesday).

The thief yelled “stay away from me” and waved a large kitchen knife at the shopkeeper after entering Status Menswear in Warwick Street at around 10am.

He grabbed a large pile of Armani jeans, and smashed a window to escape after finding he had been locked in, making his escape down Warwick Street and then Lansdowne Street.

The robber is described as a mixed race, aged 19 or 20 years old, around 5ft 8ins tall, and of slim build with short stubble, smooth skin and high cheek bones.

He was wearing sunglasses with bright yellow frames and dark blue denim jeans with elasticated bottoms, blue plimsolls, a plain baggy black hoodie, and black baseball cap with the letter A on the front. He was carrying a black rucsac.

Police are also keen to hear from anyone offered Armani jeans at a price that is ‘too good to be true’.
