Last chance to have your say on dog laws

REVISED rules governing dog owners in parks and open spaces around Warwick district were discussed by Leamington town council last week.

Warwick District Council has begun a second period of consultation on dog control orders after pressure from owners led to relaxation of some regulations.

Unpopular rules enabling officials to order owners to put dogs on leads were passed in June, but under proposed changes a ban on dogs in graveyards would be relaxed to allow the pets in while on leads, and Mill Gardens would be left out of the orders. Dogs would be banned from the main circuit of Warwick Racecourse and would have to be kept on leads on the pubic footpath across Newbold Comyn golf course. Consultation will end on Monday.
