A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of drugs following a collision on Lawford Road this morning (Wednesday).
Police were called just before 8.10am to the collision between a car and a cyclist, which happened close to the Western Relief Road. They said the cyclist is believed to have sustained a fracture to her leg.
A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson added that their crews attended the scene.
They said they treated the cyclist, a woman in her 40s, for multiple injuries and she was later taken to University Hospital Coventry.
The Warwickshire Police Operational Patrol Unit posted news of the subsequent arrest on Twitter.
It said: “Adult male in custody following collision on Lawford Rd, arrested for providing positive roadside drug sample.”
The road was closed while officers worked at the scene, but it has since re-opened.
