Leamington man knocked unconscious in town centre attack

A man was knocked unconscious after being hit my another man in Leamington town centre on Saturday night.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault, which took place at the junction of Regent Grove and Clarendon Street a few minutes before 7pm.

The 40-year-old victim was knocked to the floor, which caused him to injure his head and lose consciousness.

He was taken to the University Hospital in Coventry for treatment for a broken skull and bleed to the brain.

A 25-year old man was arrested in connection wit the incident, but has now been released on bail, to return to Leamington police station on July 12.
