The junction at High Street, Clemens Street and Bath Street and the stretch of High Street between the junction and Tachbrook Road is due to re-open on Saturday (November 30). Bus services along High Street will return to their normal routes on Sunday.

Several businesses in the area have told the Courier that they have suffered financial losses and had to reduce staff hours due to the lack of traffic flow caused by the road closures over the past two months.

During the sewerage improvement works, Severn Trent Water and its contract partners, NMCNomenca and Laing O’Rourke, have also installed a new sewer in Wise Street.

Severn Trent’s senior programme engineer Chris Keys said: “Following months of hard work from our teams and contract partners, we’re pleased that the High Street between the Tachbrook Road and Clemens Street junctions in Leamington will re-open weeks before Christmas.

“While we’ve been working on one of the main arteries into the town, we appreciate the ongoing patience and understanding of the local community. Our work to bring the Victorian sewer system into the 21st century is on track for completion in autumn next year.”

The next stage of work will be on the stretch of High Street between Bath Street and Althorpe Street, which is due to end in March.
