A schoolboy from Rugby has helped raise £200 for Cancer Research UK by taking part in Race for Life.
Bilton Junior pupil Liam Fielding, seven, completed the 10k route at Stoneleigh Park on Sunday.
He was joined by his mother Amy, grandma Gill Roberts and dog Jake.
“His nana’s close friend Gail, passed away from breast cancer last year,” said Amy.
“Liam used to walk her dogs Boo Bear and Tushy with his nana when she was poorly. After she passed away and we said we were doing the Race for Life again he asked if he could help this time.”
She said he did a mixture of running and walking 10k and did fantastic.
“He wants to do it again next year and I’ve no doubt he will be able to run it,” added Amy.
Sunday’s event at Stoneleigh attracted 2,500 women and race manager Emily Thompson said the charity hopes to raise a total of £195,000 from the day.
