Live entertainment and fun teas as Warwickshire homes celebrate care
Children from Lillington Primary School, Leamington mayor Judith Clarke and fire and police crews visited Fourways in Lillington - where residents also enjoyed a show by a war-time entertainer, while those at Woodside in Warwick dressed up for a ‘mad-hatters’ tea party.
Whitnash mayor Parminder Birdi spent time with residents at the Lawns in Whitnash, where there was also a food fayre, and at Cubbington Mill care home. screenwriter Andrew Davies dropped in for tea and Scottish dancers provided entertainment.

Hide AdSpeaking at the Lawns, which was recently saved from closure by Runwood Homes, Cllr Birdi said: “Care homes that fall short of providing a good standard always seem to be reported in the press, whereas those which are giving a wonderful life to their residents seldom make the news. Today is about expelling the myths that all care homes are bad.”
