The Hatton pupils were showed how the 1666 fire started, spread and was tackled using buckets of water - before the recreated city street they made was set alight.

Class teacher Anne Clewley said: “It was a very exciting morning and the children really enjoyed the live demonstration given by the firefighters. “They learnt a great deal by watching the fire spread, including just how dangerous fire can be.

“I would like to say a huge thank you to all of the firefighters who came today.”
