LOOKING BACK - April 14 edition
Elborow School 1960
Were you in the very last class at Elborow School in 1959-60?
If you were, you may see yourself in the photograph above.
We’ve published it as large as we can, but sorry it’s not wonderful quality. It’s taken from a cutting, which Howard Trillo (who is working on a book about the school) has sent in.
We’ve run a few pictures from the school lately, which have helped to generate a few more memories for Howard’s publication. So here’s one more. The boys who can be identified are: (Top row, from left): Billy Mitchell, Martin Dytham, Stephen Wall, Jimmy Turner, Unknown, Malcolm Madgett, Unknown. (Middle row): Michael Moore, Nigel Dancy, James Morgan, Alf Turland, George Kilgour, John Waine, Unknown.
(Bottom row): Geoffrey Webster, Eric/Peter Hawley, Unknown, Peter Spencer, Unknown, Philip Jones, Unknown.
The ‘Unknowns’ will be from the following list: John Lucas, Dennis Rippen, Graham Saul, Brian Strefford, Michael Connelly, Keith Willars, and John Sheridan.
If you think you recognise any of the ‘unknown’ pupils or would like to share any memories of Elborow (especially of that last year) Howard Trillo (1955-59) would like to hear from you – he is writing a new history of the school and its founder, Richard Elborowe. Please get in touch with Memory Lane, details above.
