Rugby’s Festival of Culture closed in style on Sunday night when Rugby Youth Theatre took to the stage and delighted the full house with performances from a variety of West End and Broadway Musicals.

Supported by Rugby First, Rugby Borough Council and a wide variety of individuals, groups, businesses and organisations, the festival provided a range of cultural entertainment that included music, dance, art, theatre, comedy, poetry, literature, walks, food, drink more. Now in its fourth year, it ran from June 27 to July 13.

Rugby First managing director Aftab Gaffar said: “It has been a superb festival with some excellent feedback. The events have been extremely well-attended with people thoroughly enjoying the huge variety on offer over the two week period. I am amazed at how quickly the festival has grown in such a short space of time and I would like to congratulate all those involved and extend my heartfelt thanks for their continued hard work and support.”

“The festival provides a real boost to the town centre helping to increase footfall, attract new visitors and raise the profile of Rugby as a place to visit. We know events have a significant role to play in town centres and Rugby First in partnership with Rugby Borough Council and other organisations continues to build and develop an exciting programme of annual events that are designed to do just that.”
