Looking Permanently Fabulous

I’m not exaggerating when I say semi-permanent make-up is life changing, writes Lucie Green

When it’s done properly, it looks fabulous, makes you feel wonderful and, on a practical level, cuts out the daily ritual of applying, removing and re-applying eyebrow pencil to get it just right.

I’d been looking into semi-permanent make-up for months, but knew I had to be 100 per cent confident I was doing the right thing.

I had my eye-liner, eyelash enhancer and eyebrows done with Shantel Penlington, who runs Permanently Fabulous in Albert Street, Rugby.

Looking at Shantel’s portfolio, it was clear she consistently creates permanent makeup that enhances and improves facial features.

She also does lip blushes, which look amazing.

We had a long consultation about the look I was going for and which colours would best suit my features.

She doesn’t start any procedure without making sure you are happy with the look. If you’re not - speak up!

Shantel is passionate about her work and customer care is top of her agenda.

Numbing cream is applied before Shantel works her magic.

Do be prepared to be lying down for a couple of hours when you have a treatment and do be prepared for a bit of pain.

We are all different with varying pain thresholds. I’d be lying if I said it didn’t hurt (badly at times!) but I wouldn’t have gone back for ‘top up’ treatments if it was unbearable.

I’m really pleased with the results and I finally have eyebrows to be proud of after years of over-zealous plucking.

Shantel makes you feel very comfortable and relaxed, which is why I would highly recommend her.

After my treatments, I enjoyed a holiday in Malta with my family.

Waking up looking half decent was a first for me and I had no worries about make-up disasters in the pool.

I’ve had lots of positive comments about my new brows and liner, even my little girl noticed.

With Christmas looming, I can’t think of a better present to yourself.

Permanently Fabulous is an extension of a family-run tattooing and piercing business called Tattoo 2000 Ink in You, where Shantel is also a body piercer.
