Lorry driver dies in crash near Catthorpe Interchange

A MAN has died after a multi-vehicle pile up near the Catthorpe Interchange on the A14 yesterday.

The crash happened at 4.55pm on the A14 westbound, about a mile from the notoriously dangerous junction.

Four vehicles were involved in the accident, two of which were lorries.

The driver of one of the lorries, a 51 year old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash caused miles tailbacks with the Highways Agency and Northamptonshire Police distributing water and checking on the welfare of motorists in the queue.
