Lots to crow about in Crick

A weekend of fun and entertainment in Crick is set to pull in the crowds this summer.

Crick Scarecrow Festival is being held on July 9 and 10 with a variety of games, stalls, live music and of course the scarecrows.

Dave Sulley, committee member, said: “Once again the Scarecrow and Music festival committees have joined forces to ensure a fantastic weekend of entertainment.

“Whether you are out for a leisurely village stroll or enjoy live music, Crick is the place to be on this July weekend.”

The free entry Jazz Night at the Royal Oak on Friday, July 8, begins the weekend of fun activities and entertainment.

“Make sure you get the essential guide to the weekend, the Festival Programme, which includes event times and a useful village map and guide to where to find the scarecrows,” added Dave.

“These are available from Crick Post Office, car parks and various stalls.”

Attractions for people of all ages will be taking place throughout the village for various good causes.

There are opportunities for refreshment breaks with tea and cakes, barbecued food and a beer tent.

Dave added: “There’s a raffle with great prizes and a fun fair for the children.

“There is also a full festival of live music featuring local bands and street busking by local musicians.”

Car parking is available at Crick Primary School and at the end of Oak Lane, both giving easy access to the main event area in Bury Dyke.
