LAW firms in Rugby will be writing wills for free this month to raise money for Myton Hospice.

Solicitors and will writers across Warwickshire are taking part in The Myton Hospices third annual Make a Will Week from October 15 to 19.

During this time those taking part will produce basic wills in return for a donation to the charity.

The suggested donation for a single will is £80 and £160 for a joint will.

Last year the event raised more than £14,000 for Myton with 15 firms of solicitors writing more than 120 wills. This year there are 17 firms taking part.

Organiser David Pratt said: “Making a will is something many people put off and don’t like to think about but it is the only way to ensure our wishes are met after we are gone. By taking part in this scheme you can put your affairs in order and support your local hospice at the same time.”

Myton Hospice supporters can also take the opportunity to leave a donation in their will, although the charity says there is no pressure to do this.

Mr Pratt added: “Large or small, a legacy can help our patients at a time when they really need the care of the Myton Hospices.”
