Man injured after burglary

AN ELDERLY man suffered a head injury after his home in Warwick was burgled on Sunday morning.

The 65-year-old had been asleep when the incident occurred in Hill Street shortly after midnight. The burglar is believed to have stolen a chain, bracelet, Nintendo DS and mobile phone. A male described as being of athletic build and approximately 5ft 11ins, wearing a dark hoodie and dark tracksuit trousers was seen in th area at the relevant time.

The injured man was released from hospital after treatment.
