A man jumped over the counter in McDonald’s, Rugby, and demanded cash from the safe.

The incident happened in the London Road branch yesterday (Thursday) at around 11.30pm.

A man entered the restaurant, jumped over the counter and demanded a member of staff to open the safe.

An unknown quantity of cash was then stolen.

The offender then made off on foot across the A45. Nobody was injured during the incident.

He is described as white, of a medium build, in his early to mid 20s, 5 foot 6, with his face covered.

He was wearing dark clothing, a black padded jacket, jeans and trainers.

Anyone who saw the man, or with other information is asked to call DC Simon Setchell in Rugby CID on 101, quoting incident 420 of Thursday 23 April.
