Man rescued after collapsing in field near Leamington

An ambulance was called to a field off Coventry Road just after 9am, and when the crew arrived, they found the man’s girlfriend, who tried to direct them to where he was.

Staff from the ambulance control room spoke to the 27-year-old patient, who was feeling drowsy and nauseous and had difficulty breathing, on the phone while the crew searched for him. An air ambulance was called and its crew found the man, who was suffering from back pain and mild hypothermia.

He was treated at the scene before being flown by helicopter to the University Hospital in Coventry.

The 27-year-old was found on a small bridge in a remote field and the crew was called out at around 9.50am.

The man was complaining of mild hypothermia and was treated by the crew and given a blanket, before being taken by helicopter to the University Hospital in Coventry.
