Man rescued from car after being trapped by floodwater in Church Lawford
A man was rescued from his car on the A428 in Church Lawford after it was surrounded by floodwater early this morning.
Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene at 5.50am and found a man on top of his car, which was under a bridge with seven feet of water surrounding him.
The water was still rising when crews engaged boats to carry out a rescue, which was completed just after 7am.
The flooding has meant the road remains closed in both directions between the School Street junction and The Green junction, which has caused severe delays in the area.
